The Abrahamic Covenant

The promises that God made to Abraham are absolutely wonderful! God promised that he would make a great nation out of Abraham. God promised to bless him and make his name great. God promised to bless all who blessed him and curse all who cursed him. God promised to bless all the people of the earth through Abraham. When Abraham and Lot were traveling together, their possessions were so great and so many that Genesis 13:6 says, “The land was not able to bear them, that they might dwell together: for their substance was great, so that they could not dwell together.” God’s promises were both spiritual and material.

The Lord told Abraham, “All the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed forever (Gen. 3:15).”

The incredible wealth that God gave to Abraham did not shift his focus away from God. He stayed busy building altars and maintaining his relationship with the Almighty.

God promised Abraham that he would establish his covenant “between me and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee. And I will give unto thee, and to thy seed after thee, the land wherein thou art a stranger, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God (Gen. 17:7-8).” God instituted the covenant of circumcision with Abraham and his seed. This is where we come in! You can start getting excited now!

Col. 2:11-12
11 In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ:
12 Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.

When we repented, were baptized in the wonderful name of Jesus (circumcised with the circumcision made without hands), and received the wonderful Gift of the Holy Ghost we were brought into the Abrahamic covenant and became heirs to the covenant promises!

Gal 3:27-29
27 For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.
28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.
29 And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.

As long as you will “Seek ye FIRST, the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, all these things shall be added unto you (Matt. 6:33).”

I urge you to study the life of Abraham. Worship and build altars to God.

I perceive in the Spirit that it is time for the Jesus name baptized, Holy Ghost filled seed of Abraham to begin claiming, believing, and receiving the promises which God made to Abraham and to his seed.

This is a must if we are to ever accomplish much for God! Doubt, fear, and unbelief are our enemies! Abraham believed God and it was imputed to him for righteousness! The same word of the Lord says, “If ye will not believe, surely ye shall not be established (Isa. 7:9).”

Abraham realized and recognized that his abundance and material wealth were a gift from God. He valued the giver above the gifts. He was wise to understand and value the source more than the service, the giver more than the gift, and the eternal more than the temporary. This paradigm allowed God to safely trust Abraham with great material wealth as well.

Poverty must go! Spiritual and material blessings are promised to us. Pray the promises and remember to keep Jesus first as the blessings come rolling in! We have not because we ask not. God receives no glory from poverty. The Lord has pleasure in the prosperity of his servant (Ps. 35:27). God is elevating his believing people…now. I challenge you to pray and receive the promises that were made long ago to our father, Abraham.
